The following websites provide detailed instructions on how to vote your shares over the Internet. To ensure the security of your vote you will be asked to enter your control number(s), which appears on the Notice of Availability or Proxy Card you received in the mail. If you received your proxy materials electronically, your control number is contained in the e-mail you received.

You are a “registered stockholder” if you hold your shares in your own name with our transfer agent, American Stock Transfer & Trust Company. American Public Education mailed all Registered Stockholders a Notice of Availability (click on the link to access), which provides detailed instructions on how to vote your shares online at http://www.voteproxy.com or via phone, using your 11 digit control number.

You are a “beneficial stockholder” if you hold your stock through a broker, bank or other nominee. Beneficial stockholders are also known as “street name” stockholders. American Public Education mailed Beneficial Stockholders a Notice of Availability (click on the link to access), which provides detailed instructions on how to vote your shares online at http://www.proxyvote.com or via phone, using your 12 or 14 digit control number.

Stockholders who receive a Notice of Availability by mail and would like to receive a printed copy of our proxy materials should follow the instructions for requesting such materials included on the Notice of Availability.
