 | Carol S. Gilbert Executive Vice President, Programs and Marketing
Carol Gilbert is responsible for developing and implementing the University's strategic marketing plan with a team comprised of Program Management, Marketing Communications and Admissions professionals. These responsibilities include identifying evolving student and market needs, working closely with Academics to build new program offerings to meet student needs now, and in the future.
Since 1985, Ms. Gilbert has held marketing and strategic planning leadership positions in the hospitality and health care industries. Most recently, she served as brand vice president for Marriott International and led the strategic planning efforts that grew the emerging SpringHill Suites' brand into a profitable line of business with over $200 million in revenue.
During her career at Marriott, she also directed business and marketing strategies for the Fairfield Inn brand. Combining sound strategic repositioning and growth initiatives, Ms. Gilbert successfully launched the Fairfield Inn & Suites brand extension and helped accelerate unit development. She has also held vice president and director positions with Choice Hotels International, and Manor Health Care Corp.
Prior to 1985, Ms. Gilbert held legislative and staff positions at Dickstein, Shapiro & Morin, the U.S. House of Representatives, and the Office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Ms. Gilbert earned an A.B. degree in International Relations from Brown University, graduating magna cum laude. She also earned an MBA in Marketing and Finance from the University of Maryland.
